To Market

As I leave full-time employment and dip my toes into a nebulous new world  I wonder who the heck am i when i stop defining myself by my career or relationships? Homemaker? Artist? Educator? What do I "do" when my job is not defined by an HR handbook ?

I do know one thing...I want to simplify and be more mindful. Today's farmer's market reminded me that kind of life is out there. Inspired me to stop for a moment and just be.  Just breathe. Thanks Farmer's Market for a little glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel!!

The Moment- 5:18

Inspired by Soulemama-
{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Toy, Not a Toy

One of our favorite party tricks is Toy, Not a Toy. We put 2 objects in front of M, our little guy. One object is designed and manufactured to be a toy. One is definitively not. Without fail he will instantly grab "Not a Toy".
This morning I may or may not have allowed him to play with the dishwasher. Look, we pick our battles...
Please hold to this incredible sense of wonder in the everyday.
Thank you for not getting hurt :)

Breathe

Being a first time home-buyer 4 years ago was so much fun! First time home-seller now? Infinitely less so...

What does this photo have to do with anything? Saw this out on my counter while putting away groceries and in the middle of a panic spiral about some stupid detail or another. It reminded me to stop. To breathe. That life doesn't need to be as complicated as I tend to make it.
Thank you for allowing me to find beauty in the simple, everyday.
Please help me remember that. And to breathe deeply.
